Creativity of A Wedding Announcements Career
By busQuest on Aug 7, 2008 in Careers
When my sister first decided to launch a wedding announcements business from home, she didn’t really plan on it being a full-time job. She figured that she could do this kind of work part-time to earn some money while she pursued other creative interests in her free time. She had visions of spending her mornings painting and her evenings at open mic nights.
However, once she started working at the business, she realized that there were a lot of creative things that she could do while she was working. She had originally planned on acting as a retailer for wedding invitations that she purchased wholesale. However she quickly changed her mind and started making her own wedding invitations and placing them for sale.
It turned out that she had a knack for the work. Sales of her trendy beach wedding invitations were particularly high. People seemed to like the fact that she was offering them non-traditional choices for their special days.
Her most recent addition to the business is that she is running short online classes teaching people how to make their own wedding invitations. She sells the supplies for DIY wedding invitations so she gets some income from that and she charges a small fee for the classes. And she’s got big plans for the future with this career!
