College Options for My Whole Family…
By bQuestR on Mar 23, 2008 in Education
My mother-in-law works in the health care industry, and lately has been interested in getting the training she needs to qualify for a promotion. To help her out, my husband and I have been looking into her options.
There are a number of colleges that offer training for various health care careers. For instance, Lehigh College in Allentown, Pennsylvania has a great program in medical assisting. In nearby Philadelphia, Gibbs College Norristown offers an impressive number of health career training programs, offered through their affiliate, the well-known Sanford-Brown Institute; programs include medical assisting, dental assisting, medical billing and coding, and a couple of different sonography programs.
For some reason, while I was looking these up, I ran across a mention that someone made of a completely unrelated school: Sacramento Kitchen Academy. Initially, the name made me laugh, but when I looked at the site I found it actually looks like a pretty cool culinary school. My sister’s a really great cook, so maybe she’d consider something like this.
I figure, as long as I’m looking into college for one family member, I might as well advise them all, right? Ha!
