People who Prefer Western Culinary Institute
By busQuest on Apr 20, 2008 in Education
There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of different culinary schools all across the nation. What makes a student choose one over the other? To answer that question, let’s take a look at the type of students who prefer Western Culinary Institute over other educational options.
Some of the common traits of these students include:
- They are from (or prefer to live in) the Pacific Northwest. This school is in Portland so it’s preferred by West Coast people. In contrast, someone in the Midwest might be more inclined to attend a school like the Cooking Institute of Chicago.
- They are familiar with the Le Cordon Bleu name. This school is one of many that are part of the Le Cordon Bleu program. As a rule, WCI students choose the school in part because of this fact.
- They want a diverse degree program. In contrast to many other programs, the degrees at this school are not all the same. There are both culinary and baking degrees and there are both degrees and certificates. Students seeking different degree options are attracted to this feature of the school.
Students will consider a number of factors when planning to attend cooking school. The location, reputation and diversity of the school will all play a primary role in their final decision.
