Visit with Grandma and Grandpa »

With the cost of traveling increasing, the trip to visit family and friends is often put off until surplus funds are available. As people move farther and farther away from hometowns for jobs or education, transportation by airplane or train is often necessary to see family and close friends. With the rising cost of air and train transportation, people are looking for ways to connect with loved ones without spending the money on plane tickets or train fare.

The once required trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa‘s house can be replaced with a virtual visit. With videoconferencing services available for personal use, the kids can see and talk to grandma and grandpa and never leave the comfort of their home. Since grandparents of today are more technologically savvy than their predecessors, using a video conference service to maintain a relationship with the grandchildren is a virtual solution to the expense of travel. If Grandma and Grandpa still work, it might be easier to find the time to visit the nearest video-conferencing facility rather than taking off a week of work to visit the grandkids out of state.  Staying connected to family and friends might benefit from creative measures and virtual solutions like video conferencing.

Choosing the sports franchise that fits you the best »

My brother-in-law is quite the entrepreneur.  He owns about four local businesses, all started from the ground up. He has wonderful people running them, so he doesn’t have to be as involved with the day to day running of his companies.  At first he thought this would be great, but after about a month, he grew bored.  That was when his wife urged him to look into franchise opportunities for the area.  The beauty of a franchise is most, if not all of the ground work is already done for you.  Because he was a bit older than when he started his last venture, my brother-in-law like the idea of the business hitting the ground running as soon as it started up.

Now, he had looked into a franchise opportunity in the past, but couldn’t find one that he thought would not only have a chance at making money, but would keep him interested.  This time around he was considering baseball franchise and the more he thought about it, the more he like the idea.  He loved sports and since he was planning on running this business himself and not handing it over to a manager, it made the most sense.

AHH I need a Rental Car »

As I considered my options for our big trip, I realized that our vehicle was just not going to work. We have a decent car in good shape, a Dodge Stratus, actually. There are four of us taking the trip, but we have a baby with us too. Since we will be traveling relatively far, I determined that the car is just not big enough. I got the idea to call for Denver car rentals instead. We will be going several hundred miles and I wanted to rent a larger vehicle, such as a minivan, which would help us with luggage as well as having enough room to spread out and therefore lesson the overall impact on us from driving.

I did find some great options out there. The Denver car hire that I found was the perfect solution. The Denver airport rental cars were easy to get to and I did not have to think twice about getting any help. We simply showed up with our reservations and got into the vehicle and started on our way. It was fast and easy, and even affordable!  Definitely consider it if you are going to be traveling with a group and need a larger vehicle to take with you.

What is an Organic Baby Moses Basket »

As going green continues to become all the rage, new parents keep a look out for ways to keep baby safe and healthy holistically.

People who are conscientious in this regard often purchase items like an iqair whole house air filter to keep the air free of allergens and pathogens that can harm the health of their newborn infant.

They may even buy several iqair healthpro replacement filters so they stay stocked up on the essentials that their baby will need as it grows.

Another item that can be purchased that will help your baby find comfort and safety is an organic Moses basket.  Those who have never heard of this basket soon fall in love with the idea once they discover what it is.

An organic baby Moses basket is a carrying cradle that a child can be placed in as it sleeps.  Since most newborns sleep for up to sixteen hours a day off and on, this organic basket is the best place to keep it nestled in comfort.

Unlike a crib, a baby Moses basket is portable and the bumper and linens are made of organic cotton.  The mattress pad is also made of all natural materials that are designed to cushion the child and is conducive to uninterrupted slumber.

Your baby is sure to sleep extra soundly at night, making this organic baby basket just the thing for parental peace of mind.

Research Paper on Tattoos »

I knew there was a reason I liked being a sociology major. Today, my professor assigned us a project for the upcoming month. We have to create a research paper on tattoos. Our job is to analyze the reasons people get tattoos, which types of tattoos tend to connect with most people, and if people end up regretting their tattoos.

I was thinking about interviewing some of my friends who have tattoos. One of my friends has several scorpion tattoos and another one has a couple of Jesus tattoos; so, I could discuss the religious aspect of tattoos.

This could be a really interesting study. I’m curious to hear people’s reasoning behind why they get ankle tattoos or back tattoos. Is there a particular reason they get them in a certain place? What’s the inspiration behind their designs?

It’ll also be interesting to see if anyone admits to having tattoo regret. I’ve read some studies showing that up to 50% of all individuals regret getting their tattoos. I wonder if any of my subjects fall in that category.

Beyond interviewing my tattooed friends, I also need to find some great books on the subject. Do any of you have recommendations for books or articles that would be helpful?
