College is a time of your life when you figure out who you are and what you believe in. This is true whether you are going to a large university or a small school that specializes in a niche area of study like golf instruction. If you have the opportunity to engage in this experience in a new location, you should take advantage of that fact. Spending these years in a place away from home can really help you to be open to changing the way that you are and developing more of your true self.

For example, let’s say that you are from a small conservative town in the Midwest but are going to attend school at San Diego Golf Academy. San Diego is a really laidback city that tends to be fairly liberal in the way that it treats people. You will have the opportunity to attend more events than you probably did in your hometown which will help you broaden your experiences and shape who you are going to be. Because there will be a lack of judgment surrounding the experience, you can feel free to make these changes as you see fit.

Of course, you don’t have to go to San Diego to do this. A Texas or Florida Golf School would offer the same opportunities. The point is that college should be a time when you are free to learn. Going away to school makes that a lot easier.
