What Comes with a Disk Printer
By busQuest on Aug 12, 2008 in Technology
I was thinking about buying a CD printer or DVD printer so that I could label all of the various media disks that I have in my home. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so I was looking at used disk printers. However, I couldn’t figure out quite what I needed to make sure was included in the purchase of this type of equipment.
I ended up buying a disk printer new and found out what was inside the box. Here are some of the things that you should expect to come with your disk printer:
- The machine itself. You can’t do anything at all without this piece of equipment.
- Ink cartridges. You can print without ink.
- USB connector. This depends on the type of printer that you get but is typically going to be included.
- Power supply cord. You have to be able to turn the thing on so it’s got to have the cord or some batteries.
- Software. You need software for the machine to create the labels that you are printing on to the disks.
- Manual. Buying a disk printer used may not allow it to come with a manual but you should try to get one.
You may also find that some disk printers come with a set of blank CDs or DVDs for you to practice using the machine on but this doesn’t seem to be a standard thing according to the people I’ve talked to about the machine that I got.
